Mark holders are very aware of the importance of communication, promotion and the attendance at fairs. “Cipolla Bianca di Margherita Igp” is no exception and will attend Fruit Logistica in Berlin this year too.
Three ecotypes will be on display – marzaiola, maggiaiola and giugnaiola. The German event is also an opportunity to strengthen visibility with operators and the Italian and foreign distribution chain.
“An analysis of the commercialization of our PGI product revealed how the foreign markets represent our weakness, as 95% of sales are made on the domestic market with only a small percentage destined abroad. Making this share grow is our primary objective. In addition, we aim at creating a processing chain that develops new products such as sauces, pesto or preserves to give continuity,” explains Giuseppe Castiglione, president of Consortium.
Producers and packagers will attend the fair (Hall 4.2.1). In addition, there will also be an area to taste the produce. There is a lot to tell about Cipolla Bianca di Margherita Igp, starting with its uniqueness.
This special product does not in fact grow in the ground, but in the sandy soil overlooking the Adriatic Sea south of Gargano, an area of high environmental interest safeguarded by an international convention (Ramsar 1979) located between Margherita di Savoia (Bat), Zapponeta (Fg) and Manfredonia (Fg).
