By April 1, about 350 hectares were sown with vegetables and 70 hectares were planted with potatoes, in the Republic of Crimea. The planned area for sowing vegetables in open ground in 2022 in Crimean farms is about 7 thousand hectares, for potatoes – 4.5 thousand hectares.
The largest producers of vegetables and potatoes plan to significantly increase the sown area for the 2022 harvest. Crimean farmers, despite the sanctions, do not experience a shortage of vegetable and potato seeds.
SPK Pravda plans to increase potato acreage by 20% in 2022 compared to 2021. It is also planned to increase the area under vegetables (growth will be more than 37%). By April 1, the enterprise had already sown 5 hectares of onions. In 2021, the sown area under vegetable crops in the Pravda farm increased by almost 125% and amounted to 168.5 hectares.
Last year, pumpkin was also sown on an area of 20 hectares and potatoes on an area of 100 hectares.
