The Rosselkhoznadzor informed about the inadmissibility of deliveries to Russia of Belarusian plant products that do not meet the requirements.
On November 2, during a video conference, the Rosselkhoznadzor notified the Main State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection of the Republic of Belarus about the inadmissibility of violating phytosanitary requirements when supplying Belarusian regulated products to the Russian Federation.
In October 2021, during the control of consignments of tomatoes and peppers that entered the territory of the Russian Federation from Belarus accompanied by phytosanitary certificates issued by the competent authority of the republic, 15 cases of detection of objects quarantine for the EAEU member states were detected: 13 cases of detection of the Pepino mosaic virus (Pepino mosaic virus) and 2 cases of detection of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus in the specified products.
Notifications on all facts of detections were sent to the State Institution “Main State Inspectorate for Seed Production, Quarantine and Plant Protection”.
Rosselkhoznadzor has asked for an official investigation into the causes of the contamination and take corrective measures to comply with Russian phytosanitary requirements.
The service also reserves the right to impose temporary restrictions on the supply of these products to Russia in relation to its manufacturers and exporters from Belarus.
The Belarusian side promised to promptly send all the necessary materials, as well as strengthen phytosanitary control.
