Kultive Expands Its Ratatouille Vegetable Range with White and Graffiti Eggplants
Farmers, agronomists, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in the vegetable industry are buzzing with excitement as Kultive launches two new eggplant varieties this week. Known for their flagship purple eggplant, Kultive is diversifying its offerings with the introduction of White and Graffiti eggplants, aiming to capture new market segments while bolstering their traditional product lines.
According to Alexandre Picault, Kultive’s sales manager, the initial shipments of these new varieties arrived on Monday, marking a significant step in the company’s diversification strategy. “We anticipate 25 tons of White eggplants and 50 tons of the Graffiti variety for the season,” Picault stated. “Our strategy focuses on maintaining leadership with our core products while exploring new opportunities in the market.”
While the Graffiti eggplant has already garnered favorable reception, the White variety presents unique organoleptic qualities that differentiate it from the traditional purple eggplant. “White eggplants offer a less bitter taste, with a thinner skin and higher dry matter content, enhancing their storage capabilities,” Picault explained. “We are noticing promising demand trends for the Graffiti variety as well.”
Simultaneously, the traditional purple eggplant remains a cornerstone of Kultive’s production, with expectations set at 2,500 tons for the 2024 season. “We are currently mid-season with excellent volumes and robust demand,” Picault noted. “Consumers continue to favor this versatile product, which maintains strong market traction regardless of sunlight availability.”
Celebrating its 10th anniversary on June 7th, Kultive plans to highlight its commitment to quality and sustainability with all three eggplant varieties certified under Global GAP, HEV, and Demain la Terre standards. The anniversary event will showcase Kultive’s journey, innovations in packaging, and future outlook amidst the evolving landscape of vegetable production.
