Toro innovated its Aqua-Traxx drip tape product family. Improving drip irrigation designs and efficiencies, new Toro Aqua-Traxx Sweet Spot drip tape is a 6/8” Interior Diameter (ID) drip tape that gives growers a one-of-a-kind product that splits the difference between standard 5/8” ID tape and 7/8” ID tape.
With new Aqua-Traxx Sweet Spot drip tape, growers can achieve longer runs than 5/8” ID tape and lower costs than 7/8” ID tape.
“Aqua-Traxx Sweet Spot is the perfect drip tape for growers looking to maximize irrigation run lengths, while minimizing costs,” Sky Anderson, product manager for Toro Ag, said in a news release. “In many cases, growers find that 5/8” ID drip tape cannot accommodate long enough runs for their field layouts. Many are either forced to run water supply lines through the middle of their fields, or spend more money to upgrade to 7/8” ID drip tape. Sweet Spot effectively solves this problem. Now, growers can optimize their irrigation designs and choose the most efficient layout, while also reducing water, hose, fitting, and drip tape costs.”
Advantages of Toro Aqua-Traxx Sweet Spot include:
- Longer runs than 5/8” ID drip tape
- Better uniformity
- Lower system costs resulting from less hose, layflat, connections and labor
- Less expensive than 7/8” ID drip tape
- Fewer pounds of plastic per acre
- More environmentally friendly
- More water savings due to less runoff
Toro is also launching 6/8” fittings to support Sweet Spot drip irrigation designs, which are available in popular configurations and are only available from Toro.
“As an innovator in the irrigation industry, Toro is always looking for ways to revolutionize irrigation practices that make growers’ lives easier and more profitable,” says Ralf San Jose, director of marketing for Toro Ag Americas. “Since not all applications are the same, growers need flexibility to choose the best design to maximize yields, uniformity and efficiency, while minimizing cost. Aqua-Traxx Sweet Spot does just that. It is a new tool in your irrigation toolbox; growers can now efficiently achieve the irrigation run lengths they need, while reducing operating costs.”
