Annual inflation in the Tyva Republic in May slowed down by 1.24 percentage points compared to April, to 13.81%. This is still lower than in the Siberian Federal District (18.10%) and Russia (17.10%). The dynamics of inflation in the region was determined by the expansion of the supply of certain types of goods and services, as well as the decrease in consumer activity of the population. The strengthening of the ruble also had a significant impact on the inflation slowdown.
The annual growth rate of food prices in May decreased by 0.31 percentage points compared to April, to 19.81%.
The strengthening of the ruble and the arrival in May of an earlier harvest of imported vegetables led to an increase in supply and a slowdown in annual price growth for cabbage and garlic. In addition, supplies of greenhouse cucumbers from agricultural complexes from neighboring regions increased, which increased the harvest due to the expansion of production capacities. As a result, the decline in prices for cucumbers intensified.
