Eldos Turakbekov, a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture of the Kalmyk State University, defended his startup as a diploma.
He presented an adapted tomato cultivation technology for the arid climate of the republic and developed a Kalmyk tomato variety. Under the scientific guidance of Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Vladimir Batyrov, the student researched several promising varieties of tomatoes.
Eldos Turakbekov came to study from the city of Karakol in Kyrgyzstan. “The people of Kalmykia need quality products,” he said. The young agronomist will continue working on his business project in the magistracy. In the coming years, it will be possible to buy seedlings and tomatoes grown at the Faculty of Agriculture.
