Agritechnica 2022: The world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery with an attractive exhibitor offering and technical program

From 27 February to 5 March 2022 in Hanover, Germany – Digital events program to be launched from mid-November 2021 – High visitor interest five months ahead of trade fair – 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries expected – International technical program guided by theme: “Green Efficiency – inspired by solutions” – Presentation of the world’s leading innovation awards in agricultural machinery – Systems & Components: B2B marketplace

(DLG). “Green Efficiency – inspired by solutions” is the guiding theme of Agritechnica 2022, which will be held from 27 February to 5 March at the Exhibition Grounds in Hanover, Germany. The DLG (German Agricultural Society), as organiser, expects around 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries. Visitor interest continues to grow, still five months before the start of the trade fair, according to Agritechnica’s latest survey results*. Some 94 percent of the respondents, from both Germany and abroad, are planning their visit to the trade fair, while 58 percent are already certain that they will attend the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery taking place next year. An attractive exhibition and technical program with numerous market leaders and leading industry experts await the international professional visitors. The digital events program for Agritechnica to kick-off mid-November will take place on the DLG-Connect platform, designed to host large-scale events online. The “Agritechnica Safe & Easy” concept will equip visitors with everything they require to plan their travel and ensure a safe visit to next year’s trade fair.

With 2,000 exhibitors expected, 21 exhibition halls and 378,000 square meters of exhibition floor space, as well as an international technical programme delivered in an effective hybrid format, Agritechnica is ready for 2022. As part of the successful restart of exhibitions, the Agritechnica trade fair will once again be the highlight of international agriculture when it welcomes its international trade audience next year, resuming its leading role as the world’s largest trade fair for agricultural machinery.

“With its exhibitors from 50 countries representing a long list of market leaders, an international dealer centre, the B2B marketplace ‘Systems & Components’ and the ideas-inspiring startup area ‘DLG-AgrifutureLab’, Agritechnica will be setting standards in terms of product and topic diversity as an international business platform and network for professional exchange,” says Freya von Czettritz, project manager of Agritechnica.

Technical programe puts a spotlight on the future of international agriculture

With its guiding theme, ‘Green Efficiency – Inspired by Solutions’, Agritechnica will be putting the spotlight on the challenges facing successful agriculture. The objective is to enable increasing productivity while reducing input and addressing intensive farming and also protecting the environment and nature. The central question is: how can the agricultural industry produce food, feed, raw materials and energy in an ecologically efficient way? In order to identify new solutions and cross-system cultivation methods, at Agritechnica we will be bringing farmers together with partners from the fields of technology, farm inputs and services. In the Agritechnica technical programe, which is broken down into the six spotlights ‘soil cultivation and sowing’, ‘irrigation’, ‘fertilization’, ‘crop protection’ and ‘harvest and post-harvest management’ and ‘digital platforms’, experts will be providing answers to the central future issues of global crop production and international agricultural machinery.

“AGRITECHNICA digital” to complement the in-person trade fair in Hanover

The online digital information and technical programe will be kicking off on the new DLG-Connect platform from mid-November 2021. “Agritechnica digital”- the name of the digital events program – is the ideal complement to the trade fair in Hanover as it offers exhibitors and visitors an additional business platform that is designed to combine the live experience of the trade fair with innovative digital information and networking.

“This benefits not only visitors but also our exhibitors, who can network with their priority customers in the run-up to the trade fair through their digital company profiles, events and press conferences,” says Freya von Czettritz, explaining the advantages of the new hybrid format. “The wide reach of DLG-Connect can thus be used strategically in their exhibition communication,” adds Freya von Czettritz.

From November, the Agritechnica exhibitors, many of whom will be presenting their innovations in live events, can be found in the DLG-Connect “industry index” along with their company profile and will be able to present innovations in live events and expand their customer network. Comprehensive networking opportunities on current topics and special interest offers via audio, video or chat communication, discussions forums in the Virtual Cafés as well as features such as a personal appointment calendar round off the digital services for visitors.

International platform for current topics and innovations

Against the background of changing social, economic and climate conditions, innovations in agricultural technology are vital for future viability. Agritechnica answers the pressing questions facing the future of agriculture worldwide. According to Agritechnica’s most recent survey, the areas that interest visitors the most are the opportunity to share experiences on strategies and solutions on topics such as precision farming, automation, sustainability and environmental protection. Further topics that are considered relevant for the future were electrification, autonomous driving and further developments in the area of robotics.

As part of Agritechnica, the DLG recognizes outstanding contributions to agricultural engineering in shaping a sustainable agriculture with three different innovation awards: Agritechnica Innovation Award; Systems & Components Trophy – Engineers’ Choice; and DLG-Agrifuture Concept Winner. Not only systems and components, finished machines or products for practical use will be recognized, but also visions, concepts and pioneering work in agricultural technology as part of the new innovation award “DLG Agrifuture Concept Winner”.

With the DLG-AgrifutureLab, Agritechnica offers young companies and startups an attractive opportunity to present to the international agricultural industry their future visions visions and innovations in a prominent exhibition area, attracting plenty of footfall.

Systems & Components: Venue for the supplier industry

Systems & Components will be held for the fifth time as part of Agritechnica. As a technical forum, industry venue and at the same time a B2B platform for the supplier industry, Systems & Components is a perfect complement to the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, delivering information on the latest developments and innovations in the field of components for agricultural machinery and related sectors.

“Agritechnica Safe & Easy” – planning for a safe visit

As the organizer of the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, DLG has developed a comprehensive package of measures that ensures a Corona-compliant process, which is continuously adapted to the current situation on the ground. “Agritechnica – Safe & Easy” equips visitors with everything they need to plan their visit to the Agritechnica trade fair. Following current guidelines, Agritechnica will be implementing the 3G rule which in Germany allows the choice of providing proof of double-vaccination, or recovery from Covid-19, or a negative test.

An online booking and registration system makes it easy for visitors to plan their visit to the trade fair. Both German and international visitors are subject to the same rules. The hygiene concept is updated in line with regulations and offers the best possible safety on the trade fair grounds in Hanover including additional on-site testing facilities.
