Green pea harvesting completed in Kuban

The collection of green peas was completed in the Kuban, said the governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratiev, the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory reports.

“This year, Kuban farmers harvested 14.4 thousand hectares of this crop, threshed 54.7 thousand tons. Green peas are mainly used for conservation,” Kondratyev said.

According to him, the region is among the leaders in the collection and processing of green peas. To date, 156 million cans of peas have been produced.

Kondratiev noted that the harvesting of grain peas was also completed in the Kuban. The gross harvest of which amounted to 275 thousand tons with a yield of 25.5 centners per hectare.

Soon the harvesting of sweet corn will start in the Krasnodar Territory. This year, 6.6 thousand hectares of this product were sown. It is planned that the gross volume of corn will be 1355 thousand tons.

Seven enterprises in the Kalininsky, Timashevsky, Dinsky and Pavlovsky districts are engaged in canning corn in the region. They intend to produce 260 million cans of corn.
