Mass picking of berries started in the Moscow region back in mid-June. But in the urban district of Kashira, thanks to greenhouses, berries are harvested all year round. Over the past July, we managed to harvest almost 4 times more crops than in the same period last year.
Berry harvest near Moscow almost quadrupled in July
“In July, the companies of the Moscow region harvested 417 tons of berries, which is almost four times more than in July last year. In total, since the beginning of the year, 800 tons of berries have been harvested in the Moscow region,” said Georgy Filimonov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Moscow Region.
As Georgy Filimonov added, in July they managed to harvest 342 tons of strawberries and strawberries, 39 tons of raspberries, 22 tons of currants. In Kashira alone, 336 tons of berries have been harvested since the beginning of the year.
