In the village of Aimaumakhi, Sergokalinsky district, the construction of a fruit and berry processing workshop is underway, the progress of which was inspected by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov.
The work is carried out by SPOK “Krasnopartizansky” of the Sergokalinsky district. Its head Ruslan Gamidov noted that he intends to launch a fruit and berry processing shop next year. The equipment has been determined, there are corresponding agreements with suppliers. Moreover, the points of sale of finished products have already been determined.
In the zone of Aimaumakhi, Urakhi and some other villages of the region, gardening was traditionally practiced in the Soviet era, both in the organized and in the private sector. There are many fruit trees, wild berries. At the same time, due to the lack of sales, a significant part of the production is lost. Having studied the situation, he was convinced that this investment project is in demand, which, importantly, will also help create jobs and maintain employment for the local population. The investor expects to participate in the program of socio-economic development of the mountainous territories of the republic, which provides for subsidizing part of the costs for the purchase of equipment and other state assistance.
As Sharip Sharipov noted, in recent years in Dagestan only 5-8% of the fruits produced are processed. In addition, taking into account the strict requirements for product characteristics on the part of food retail chains, not every batch of the crop can be presented on the shelves of retail chains. In this regard, the issue of processing fruit and berry products is relevant for Dagestan. Therefore, there is a high demand for the launch of this kind of small investment projects, especially in mountainous Dagestan. The republic has a special program for the socio-economic development of mountainous areas. In recent years, the budget of the Republic of Dagestan provides funds to stimulate investment activity in the field of processing agricultural products.
“This project is one of the few in the conditions of mountainous Dagestan. We need such projects, there should be dozens of them, given that gardening has traditionally developed in our mountainous area. In the same Sergokalinsky district, there are more than 370 hectares of fruit plantations. The initiative of the head of the Krasnopartizansky SPOK will serve as an example for other potential investors who want to invest in the revival of their native villages and the creation of jobs for their fellow countrymen. We see that here the work on the construction of a room for the installation of technological equipment is at its final stage. Among other things, the implementation of this project will allow schoolchildren to harvest from their gardens during the summer holidays, as well as pick wild berries, which grow in a wide variety in this area. In addition to canning various types of fruits and berries, dried fruits and chips from non-commercial raw materials will also be made here. In mountainous areas, for the most part, products are grown without the use of plant protection products, which emphasizes its ecological cleanliness. Therefore, Dagestan products are in demand, they are recognizable in the country’s food markets and there is a fair price for them. It is very gratifying that Ruslan Hamidov decided to make a contribution to the solution of the issue of development of processing that is acute for the entire agricultural industry of the republic. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan is aimed at developing support measures for such projects,” said Sharip Sharipov.
