Astrakhan farmers are compensated for up to 90% of the costs of phytomelioration: state support in the fight against desertification.

The pasture area of the Astrakhan region is more than 2 million hectares, of which 80% are degraded and suffer from wind erosion and desertification. The region was chosen as a pilot region for the implementation of the state program to combat desertification, and large-scale work will be carried out in several stages.
