A NEW TECHNOLOGY FOR GROWING VEGETABLES WAS DEVELOPED IN SHYMKENT

Harvest all year round. For the farmers of Shymkent, local scientists have developed a new technology for growing vegetables and melons, the correspondent of “Khabar 24” reports.

Farmers were offered to use new varieties, apply drip irrigation and demonstrated new equipment. The developers presented a planting machine for seedlings. According to scientists, it will save 10 times the costs of farmers. Scientists also noted that farmers will be able to grow cabbage in winter, potatoes or melons in spring, and tomatoes and cucumbers in summer.

But every year the culture will have to change. This technology is already being used by farmers in the Turkestan region on 10 thousand hectares. There are less irrigated lands in Shymkent – three thousand hectares. 500 of them were given for vegetable growing.

Berdiyarov Kalimbetov, Candidate of Technical Sciences: – Most of our dehkans were not engaged in vegetable growing. They received one crop, and basically all vegetable growing was imported from Uzbekistan. It’s already such a time – intensive development, the need has become greater, the city is developing.

There is a need to provide ourselves with domestic products. The need forced us to develop this technology. This contributes to providing the domestic market with its own products throughout the year.
