2021 has seen a surge in agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship, with the national project “Small and Medium-sized Enterprises” proving to be a game-changer for aspiring farmers. According to Vice Premier and Minister of Agriculture Sergei Artamonov, the grant provided under this project was the most sought-after last year.
A total of 35 winners selected through a competitive selection process have become recipients of the “Agrostartup” grant, receiving a combined 120 million rubles to implement their business plans. Among them are 8 entrepreneurs developing berry growing, 7 focusing on sheep farming, and 6 exploring other innovative avenues.
The “Perspective” grant has also been awarded to 21 farmers, totaling 99.8 million rubles. These funds will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of smallholder farms, propelling the agricultural industry forward in Russia.
With the increasing demand for locally grown, sustainable, and healthy food products, it’s clear that this type of support is crucial for smallholder farmers to thrive. By investing in innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture, we’re investing in a brighter future for the entire agricultural industry.
This year, let’s continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in agriculture, with a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and quality. By supporting young entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers, we’ll lay the groundwork for a prosperous and resilient agricultural sector that can withstand the challenges of the future.
Let’s seize this opportunity to collaborate, innovate, and invest in a greener, more resilient, and prosperous agriculture. Together, we can shape a future where agriculture meets the needs of people, communities, and our planet.
