Over the past years, the production of greenhouse vegetables and green crops has been steadily growing in Russia. Since the beginning of this year alone, 975.3 thousand tons have been grown in winter greenhouses, which is 6.3% more than in the same period in 2021. Including the harvest of cucumbers is 568.2 thousand tons, and tomatoes – 387.8 thousand tons.
In addition, harvesting of open ground vegetables is gaining momentum – early varieties of cabbage, carrots, table beets and onions, as well as tomatoes and cucumbers. In total, 420.9 thousand tons have already been collected. The traditional leaders in their production in our country are the Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov, Voronezh and Moscow regions, the Krasnodar Territory, as well as the republics of the North Caucasus.
