Farmers growing Pioneer brand corn have won 10 national and 245 regional awards as part of the annual Corn Yield Contest of the National Association of Corn Producers (NCGA) of the USA. For the third year in a row, Pioneer hybrids have demonstrated maximum yield results, having previously set two world records.
For the third time, David Hula from Charles City, Virginia, set a new world record with the Pioneer® hybrid P1197. This year, the farmer was able to harvest 616 bushels per acre (386.6 kg/ha) by growing the hybrid P1197YHR, breaking his previous world record of 542 bushels per acre (340 kg/ha), set in 2017 with corn P1197AM of the same brand.
Despite the difficult sowing period, farmers were able to achieve the best results thanks to their own experience, unique plant genetics and professional recommendations of Pioneer specialists. More than 70 unique Pioneer brand corn products have been awarded throughout the country, demonstrating the capabilities of the line in achieving maximum yield regardless of the complexity of climatic conditions.
American farmers annually participate in the national competition for the maximum yield of corn NCGA. The competition was created to demonstrate the yield potential of modern corn hybrids.
In Russia, Corteva Agriscience also annually holds the All-Russian yield competition “Pioneer MAXIMUM”. According to the results of 2019 in the nomination “The best harvest of Pioneer corn hybrid”, the hybrid P0023 – 186.3 c/ha showed a record result on a national scale. This high result belongs to the repeated champion of Pioneer MAXIMUM – the farm of Fat-Agro LLC (RSO-Alania). Last year, the farm also received the championship for a very decent result of 150.9 c/ha with the hybrid P0023 from the innovative Optimum® AQUAMax® line, which provides an increase in yield in conditions of limited moisture.
In the nomination “The best harvest of the Pioneer sunflower hybrid”, the farm of JSC Sosnovka (Oryol region) rightfully won with a result of 57.0 c/ha on the hybrid P64LE25.
