In agricultural enterprises of the Tambov region, the harvest of early varieties of apples has begun. The gardeners of the Zherdevsky district were the first to start this work. Already 25 tons of apples have been taken from the trees and sent for sale. In total, this year it is planned to harvest from 137 hectares of orchards in the Zherdevsky district.
The total area for harvesting apples this year in the Tambov region is 1,640 hectares of orchards. The largest apple orchards are located in the Michurinsky district, they occupy 503 hectares. Over 400 hectares of gardens are located in the Pervomaisky district. Apples will be harvested from the same area in the Petrovsky district. Gardeners of the Tambov region are planning to harvest fruits from 140 hectares.
According to experts, in 2022 it is planned to harvest about 20 thousand tons of fruits in agricultural enterprises of the Tambov region.
There are 12 specialized horticultural farms in the Tambov region.
