Preliminary results of agricultural micro-recording were announced in the Astrakhan region. It was held last year for the first time throughout Russia.
By the way, the last big agricultural census took place in 2016. In comparison with it, the number of Astrakhan agricultural producers has decreased. The number of active agricultural organizations decreased by 15%, peasant farms by 12%. Note that the farms that remained on the market have significantly expanded. The share of used land increased and amounted to more than 82%.
In 2016, this value for agricultural organizations was 36%. Their total sown area has increased by 40%, with more than a third of the crops being vegetables.
“Basically, in the Astrakhan region, agricultural land was presented in use as arable land, that is, crops. Agricultural organizations have increased their arable land by about 2 times. Naturally, they represent Astrakhan crops − tomatoes, which are known throughout Russia. At peasant farms, the increase in arable land was due to forage crops,” says Olga Sukhanova, head of the Statistics Department of Agriculture and the Environment of the Astrakhan State Statistics Service.
