The cost of lettuce in Australia has skyrocketed. Experts attribute this to climate change, as well as disruptions in supplies and rising prices for products that arose as a result of events in Ukraine. As a result, the Australian KFC apologized to its customers because of the need to mix cabbage with salad in burgers, reports LIVE24.
For ordinary citizens, buying leaf lettuce in the store is also expensive. In social networks, users complain that one head of iceberg lettuce is sold for 8.61 US dollars (about 500 rubles).
In addition, other products also increased in price. For example, a watermelon can be purchased for $25, which is equivalent to almost 1.5 thousand rubles.
