According to Azernews, in the initial quarter of 2024, Azerbaijan achieved notable success in exporting fruits and vegetables, amounting to 111,441 tons valued at $132.6 million, as reported by the State Customs Committee.
Compared to the same period in 2023, the export value of fruits and vegetables surged by 15.3%, equating to an increase of $17.6 million, with the quantity exported rising by 22.6%, equivalent to 20,548 tons.
In the corresponding timeframe of 2023, Azerbaijan exported fruits and vegetables valued at $114.9 million, totaling 90,893 tons.
Significantly, during the first three months of 2024 (January-March), fruit and vegetable exports accounted for 2.22% of total exports, with a notable share of 19.68% in non-oil exports.
The expanding role of the agricultural sector, particularly in fruit and vegetable exports, highlights its growing importance in bolstering Azerbaijan’s overall export landscape.
