Agrarians of the Gomel region are completing the sowing of buckwheat Spring crops in Belarus have been sown on 95.1% of the area. Belarusian farmers have completed planting vegetables on agricultural land. This was reported to BelTA at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
As of May 23, spring sowing in Belarus was carried out on an area of 2274.1 thousand hectares. In the Gomel region, 91.5% of the area is sown, in the Mogilev region – 86.6%. Sowing has already been completed in Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno and Minsk regions.
Sowing of buckwheat was carried out on 25 thousand hectares, or 75.5% of the plan, millet – on 6.96 thousand hectares, or 73.3%. Flax was sown on 44.8 thousand hectares, or 100.4% of the area, sugar beet – on 94.9 thousand hectares, or 96.3%. Vegetable crops were planted on 4.97 thousand hectares, which is 103.7%. Corn has been sown on an area of 1041.9 thousand hectares, or 97.9%. The planting of potatoes on agricultural land has already been completed.
The soil for sowing spring crops was prepared on 2274.1 thousand hectares (102.4% of the plan). These crops will be placed on an area of 2221.9 thousand hectares.
