Gardening season is in full swing.
Major vegetable producers in the region started harvesting early varieties of cabbage in early August. Among them is KFH “Chance”. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region reported on social networks and on its official website that Stary Oskol and Chernyansk vegetable growers will supply processing enterprises and the food market with at least 5.5 thousand tons of cauliflower and broccoli.
Peasant farming “Chance” of the head Nina Pakhomova – vegetable growing direction. Cabbage, its main garden crop, it supplies to partners and the population living in the region and beyond. The experience of growing vegetables in the KFH has accumulated a solid one, which is known to many buyers.
“For several days, we selectively collect ripe heads of red cabbage and broccoli, which are in great demand not only in the Belgorod region, but also in other regions of Russia. We are also starting to collect ripened heads of white cabbage of early ripening varieties,” said Nina Afanasyevna.
Early vegetables are grown in Chance on irrigated plots, the areas of which are regularly expanded, with minimal use of mineral fertilizers and plant protection products. That is why, the farmer emphasizes, the demand for products is high. By the way, ready-made vegetables are not only taken away from the Chance warehouses by major players in the food market, they are also within walking distance for residents of the Chernyansky district and neighboring cities and municipalities. Buyers are attracted to retail outlets organized by the agricultural enterprise, freshness and low price of vegetables.
Cabbage is not only a labor-intensive vegetable crop, it is also capricious. Attention and precision when planting and caring for her beds require the highest. It is with the preparation for this that the specialists of “Chance” and Nina Pakhomova herself begin work with seasonal mercenaries.
We visited one of the Chance cabbage beds, located near the village of Kovyleno, where we observed how responsibly and carefully people work here. Here is what they themselves say about it:
“We collect cabbage in the beds selectively. We cut off only ripe ones, which have an excellent presentation, without obvious mechanical damage to the head. Slowly and carefully we put them in plastic containers, which we load into tractor carts. Now there are practically no overripe heads, so it is especially important not to damage them when cutting. If you make a mistake, and the shelf life of cabbage, which is only a few days, will noticeably decrease if you hurt the cooking, ”said Ekaterina Tereshchenko, an experienced harvester.
Having visited the garden where the workers were filming mature broccoli ready for transfer, they went to the KFH logistics center, where their colleagues filled the refrigerator truck with the products coming from the field. As it turned out, one of the trucks had already set off with the products along the designated route.
