On the fields of the republic, Crimean farmers harvest late-ripening cabbage. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk.
“Now at agricultural enterprises, in peasant farms, agrarians are busy harvesting this vegetable crop. A little more than 16 thousand tons have already been collected. The most common types of cabbage grown on the peninsula are white, Beijing and cauliflower. This year we plan to get a harvest no less than last year. According to the operational data of district municipalities, this year the area under white, Beijing and cauliflower in all categories of farms amounted to 767 hectares,” the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted.
The head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture said that in the future, the entire range of harvested cabbage is sold on the peninsula: in retail chains, markets and agricultural fairs.
More than a month ago, our farmers began harvesting the late vegetables of the “borscht set”: potatoes, beets and carrots. More than 50 thousand tons of “second bread” and almost 49 thousand tons of late open ground vegetables have already been harvested. This year, agricultural organizations, peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs sowed 5.9 thousand hectares of vegetables and 3 thousand hectares of potatoes in the open field. Traditionally, the leaders in the cultivation of these crops are Dzhankoysky, Krasnogvardeisky, Krasnoperekopsky, Pervomaisky, Razdolnensky and Sovetsky districts.
