Lipetsk farmers started picking vegetables in the open field in August. At the beginning of this week, 1.3 thousand tons of zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes and garlic were received.
The area under vegetables in open ground this year increased by 10%. In agricultural enterprises and K (F) X, vegetable crops are located on 656 hectares.
111.7 thousand tons were collected in greenhouses with a year-round growing cycle. This is 5.6 thousand more than on the same date last year. “The main increase in greenhouse vegetables is provided by increasing the collection of tomatoes,” explained Oleg Dolgikh, head of the Lipetsk Region Agriculture Department. “Since the beginning of the year, 56.8 thousand tons of them have been grown, 4.1 thousand tons plus.” Also, 54.2 thousand tons of cucumbers, 700 tons of lettuce were received in winter greenhouses.
