The implementation of an additional support measure was considered at a meeting of the operational headquarters for food security.
The initiative to form a state order for social institutions and advance payments for future deliveries of vegetables and potatoes to local producers was made by Governor Sergei Sitnikov.
The head of the region noted that the Kostroma region is interested in ensuring that local enterprises can receive state funds for future deliveries before the start of the sowing campaign, and social institutions are guaranteed to be provided with vegetables at a social price.
At the moment, 515 contracts have been concluded for the supply of 3,198 tons of potatoes and vegetables to kindergartens, schools, hospitals and other institutions. This volume is enough to cover all the needs of the social sphere, noted in the department of agro-industrial complex.
“Agricultural producers of the Kostroma region can fully cover this need. The cost is fixed for the whole year, as Governor Sergei Konstantinovich Sitnikov set the task. Directly, the products themselves cost 22 rubles per kg, taking into account logistics – the approximate price can reach up to 30 rubles, depending on the region of the region. But this is an option that will provide a balance between the needs of social institutions and the capabilities of our agricultural producers,” the ministry said.
To ensure the safety of the harvest, on the initiative of Sergei Sitnikov, 5 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for the repair of vegetable stores in social institutions. These funds will be used to repair 15 storage facilities in 9 municipalities.
