Grapes, watermelons and bright dahlias: the achievements of rural gardeners and gardeners were presented in Novosibirsk

The Regional Exhibition of Achievements of Rural Gardeners, Gardeners and Flower Growers of the Novosibirsk Region, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Novosibirsk Region, was visited by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region Yevgeny Leshchenko.
“In the village, almost every resident has a personal courtyard, a personal plot, and provides food for himself and his family, makes his table more diverse, affordable. Many residents of the city of Novosibirsk also have summer cottages, garden plots. Therefore, it is difficult to overestimate the contribution that gardeners and gardeners make to the food security of the region. Thus, 80 percent of potatoes and 70 percent of open field vegetables are produced on citizens’ personal plots,” the minister said.
According to Yevgeny Leshchenko, there is a tendency to reduce these volumes, but measures are being taken in the region to support household plots and horticultural associations: annually more than 17 million rubles from the regional budget are directed to the development of engineering and transport infrastructure of horticultural associations.
Extensive expositions of their garden achievements at the exhibition were presented by several districts of the Novosibirsk region – participants in the competition held in the region: Iskitimsky, Cherepanovsky, Suzunsky, Kolyvansky, Ordynsky, Novosibirsky, Kochenevsky, Ubinsky, Toguchinsky, Vengerovsky, Bagansky, Chanovsky. It also hosted an exhibition of flowers “The best varieties of dahlias and gladioli”, a conference “Actual issues of the development of horticulture, horticulture and floriculture in the Novosibirsk Region”, fairs of planting material for fruit and berry, ornamental crops and seeds for the garden. The winners of the exhibition and competitions were awarded certificates and memorable gifts.
Organizers of the event: the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk Region, the NGO “City Horticulture Center”, the Institute of Additional Professional Education of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, public organizations of the districts participating in the competition.
