Imports of fruits and vegetables from the People’s Republic of China to Primorye increased to 7,316.2 tons. This is thousands of tons more than a week earlier.
The regional department of the Rosselkhoznadzor reports that over the past week, only 5,466.4 tons of vegetables and fruits were imported into the region.
Most of the current 7,316.2 tons are potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, cabbage, carrots, beets, onions and garlic.
“During the reporting period [June 27 – July 3], Primorye received 1,394.1 tons of fresh fruits and berries from China,” the department added.
Earlier, Vostok-Media wrote about dubious imports to the region from China.
At the end of June, during the inspection of a 24-ton shipment of seafood, it turned out that there were no documents for part of the huge cargo.
Another product from the People’s Republic of China turned out to be completely different from what the importer was trying to pass it off as. The cost of smuggling was estimated at 28,000,000 rubles.
