The harvesting season is in full swing in the republic. All municipalities brought people and equipment to the fields.
This year, farmers started harvesting grain and leguminous crops 3 weeks later than usual. And that means you have to work at a pace. The profile department notes: under favorable forecast conditions, this year the republic will produce 30% more grain and 60% more potatoes.
Agricultural producers will have to harvest 303,000 hectares of grain and leguminous crops, almost 6,000 hectares of potatoes, and 962 hectares of vegetables from the fields. Now 363 units of grain harvesting equipment, 857 combines are working in the fields, which will allow to complete the work in 15-20 days, the Ministry of Agriculture notes. In total, they plan to harvest from 547 thousand hectares. In 3 municipal districts, open ground vegetables are being harvested. They were collected from 13 hectares. The collection of grain and leguminous crops has begun in all municipal districts and districts. Among the leaders are Yalchiksky, Alatyrsky and Tsivilsky districts. 98 thousand tons of grain have been threshed. The yield this year is higher than last year’s – almost 38 centners per hectare. Hay, haylage and silage are also harvested in the republic, and winter crops are being planted. Oleg Nikolaev, when discussing the issue of harvesting, stressed the importance of municipalities providing reliable information on the course of the harvest.
- Reliable information is important, first of all, to make the right management decisions. We will discuss the issue of productivity and efficiency of land use separately in the fall, when we will sum up the results of the autumn field work, the activities of the agro-industrial complex as a whole. We will seriously analyze the situation and outline plans, and now the main task is to ensure the deadlines for the implementation of all the established work and collect all the crops that we were able to grow, – said the Head of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolaev.
