“Rosselkhoznadzor” of the Orenburg region discovered a large batch of dangerous tomatoes. They tried to introduce 18 tons of tomatoes infected with potato moth into the region.

The products were found in a temporary storage warehouse in Sol-Iletsk. Dangerous tomatoes were brought from Turkmenistan, from Akhal velayat. At the same time, the products were accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued in the republic.

However, Orenburg specialists found viable potato moth caterpillars on tomatoes. The pest lives on nightshades and can significantly reduce their yield.

The import of products was prohibited. The perpetrators will be brought to administrative responsibility.
