The farmers of the Krasnogvardeisky district were the first to start harvesting.
In the Republic of Crimea, they started picking apples of the autumn ripening period. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinova.
“The Crimean Fruit Company JSC was the first to start cleaning in the gardens of the Krasnogvardeisky district. To date, the enterprise has already harvested 127.9 tons of the Gala variety from an area of 2.8 hectares. The most popular varieties grown by the republic’s farmers are Celeste, Melba, Mantet, Eva, Gala, Golden Delicious, Jonagold and Pink Lady,” said the First Deputy Minister.
Alime Zaredinova also noted that this year the Crimean farmers expect an apple harvest no less than last year’s level. In 2022, in all categories of farms, fruits of different ripening periods will have to be harvested from an area of 4.3 thousand hectares.
Recall that in 2021, 83.3 thousand tons of apples were harvested from an area of 3.8 thousand hectares.
