On Yamal, in the harsh Seyakhinskaya tundra, Nenets Mikhail Okotetto grows potatoes, radishes, peppers and even strawberries in greenhouses in greenhouses.
Two greenhouses have grown in the Seyakhinskaya tundra. The buildings belong to Mikhail Okotetto, a native of Yamal.

Agrarian experiments have become interesting for the Nenets since 1995. Then he was at home in a wooden barrel from under the fish, planted his first potato.

A few tubers of the root crop made the northerner very happy. Later he brought willow from Omsk. Now a two-meter tree meets and escorts the residents of the village on the pier.

In 2019, a man delivered the first greenhouse to this land along the winter road. The family ate their own cucumbers, tomatoes and onions.

The agronomist decided not to stop there. In the new building, he will plant seedlings of pepper, radish, potatoes and even strawberries.

“The climate is getting warmer now. We will not wait for the northern delivery of potatoes, cucumbers, but we can grow them ourselves for food,” said Mikhail Okotetto, head of the Ilebts community.
