After almost a year of export to the Ivory Coast, just over 180,000 tons of Dutch onions were shipped. The export volume for Senegal is 175,700 tons. This is evidenced by the data on the export of Groentenfruithuis up to and including the 26th week.
In this almost final week of the export season, 12,300 tons of onions were delivered to consumers in 56 countries. Côte d’Ivoire purchased 2,200 tons of onions in the 26th week. Senegal is actually no longer sold in the Dutch onion market from the 5th week.
Record for the onion sector
Total exports this season are almost 1.3 million tonnes, marking another record for the Dutch onion sector. After Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, the UK is the third largest exporter with 142,700 tons. Fourth and fifth places are occupied by Guinea with 86,200 tons and Mauritania with 65,200 tons, respectively.)
