Exchange notes on the “Project for the development of the value chain in the fruit and vegetable sector” (phase 2) were signed by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan – Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khojayev and Japanese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yoshinori Fujiyama, August 29, the newspaper reports.uz” with reference to the press service of the diplomatic mission.
In addition, Khodjaev and JICA Vice President Keiichiro Nakazawa approved a loan agreement for the proposed project. It provides for a long repayment period of 15 years, plus a grace period of five years.
The loan agreement for the implementation of the project is $200 million and is part of the credit cooperation program implemented by Japan.
The project will help to get loans to farmers who will be engaged in the processing, production and sale of fruit and vegetable crops.
