Rector of the University Mikhail Volkhonov acquainted the head of the region with the project.
At the beginning of the meeting with the governor, he reported on the fulfillment of the previously set task: to raise the academy to a new level. During the year, the educational institution managed to rise in the rating of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia by 22 positions, where one of the main indicators was educational activity.
Sergey Sitnikov highly appreciated the work done by the administration of the KSCA, he ordered to prepare for awarding lists of those employees who helped achieve such results.
The main issue that was discussed at the meeting was the development of seed production on the basis of the University in order to provide farmers of the region with domestic seed material. Rector of the KGSHA Mikhail Volkhonov expressed confidence that the biotechnology laboratory will be able to provide a sufficient number of seeds of the so-called “borscht set” produced using invitro technology.
The Governor instructed the Department of Agriculture to provide the academy with the necessary assistance in the development of this important direction for the region and the country.
