The Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory held an off-site meeting of the Board on the basis of one of the best enterprises in the region and the Budyonnovsky District – Praskoveiskoye JSC. The venue for the meeting was not chosen by chance, but was determined by the theme, focused on the development of viticulture and winemaking in the region.
Members of the Stavropol Territory Government, regional deputies, representatives of relevant ministries, local governments, heads of leading viticulture organizations became members of the board.
In his opening speech, Andrey Khlopyanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government, noted that viticulture is a socially significant sub-sector, which is developing at a rapid pace even during the period of sanctions pressure.
The main report was made by the Minister of Agriculture of the region Sergey Izmalkov, noting that state support is the main tool for the development of the agro-industrial complex, this year its total volume amounted to over 5.1 billion rubles.
Also, the head of the regional agrarian department focused on viticulture, within the framework of the adopted federal regulations.
“In 2022, over 104.7 million rubles were allocated to support viticulture, assistance is provided in the production of covering European grape varieties, the purchase of specialized equipment, the cultivation of planting material, and the uprooting of old-growth plantings. We see the potential and experience of qualified specialists who contribute to the preservation of the heritage of domestic viticulture and winemaking, so next year 226.6 million rubles are provided to support the sub-sector,” Sergey Izmalkov noted.
Alexey Plotnikov, Executive Director of the Association of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia, spoke at the meeting in the videoconferencing mode and noted the contribution of the region on a national scale and emphasized the priority importance of maintaining the quality of products.
Sergey Bondarev, director of CJSC SHP Vinogradnoye, shared with the board members the principles of agricultural production in modern conditions and made a number of proposals for the development of the sub-sector, which were accepted for further work.
Special attention was paid to small forms of management, developing new areas of the agro-industrial complex – agro-tourism. The family winery of Vitaliy Batrak is engaged in the production of author’s wines from its own selected grapes, carefully grown on the unique terroir of the CMS. Tourists from different regions of the country who come to Stavropol can taste the products and enjoy the aesthetics of growing grapes. This year, more than 7 thousand people took advantage of this chance.
Concluding the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Sergei Izmalkov oriented colleagues and all participants of the event to fruitful work in the areas that were widely discussed during this meeting.
“Taking into account the soil and climatic potential of our region, the varietal assortment, and the existing state support measures, it is important to focus not only on the expansion of vineyard planting areas, but also on the development of land reclamation, agrotechnological methods that increase yields, and the modernization of enterprises with a full production cycle,” – said the head of the agricultural department.
On a special solemn note, the workers of the agro-industrial complex of the region were honored with various awards of federal and regional significance.
