Garden strawberries are harvested on an industrial scale in three farms in the region. At the beginning of this week, 920 tons were received. And if in Lebedyansky district the collection of sweet berries is in full swing, then in Usmansky it is coming to an end.
The harvested area under garden strawberries in the region is about 130 hectares. “About half of the volume of berries harvested in the region goes to the Usman plant for processing and shock freezing of berries and fruits,” said Oleg Dolgikh, head of the Lipetsk Region Agriculture Department. “The rest of the fresh garden strawberries are sent to the shelves of the region, as well as to Moscow.”
