The trade mission of the Russian Federation received a record number of requests for the supply of fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan to the Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions.
Fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan have proven themselves in the Russian markets, said Evgeny Korenkov, Russia’s trade representative in the republic.
Thus, 92% of Tajik fruit and vegetable products imported to Russia are in Sogd.
This year, the trade mission received a record number of requests from federal networks, including from the Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions, for the supply of agricultural products, which means that in 2022 the volume of cooperation will increase again.
Russia remains Tajikistan’s main trading partner. Countries have a record trade turnover for 2021 – more than 1.3 billion dollars,
“The Russian Federation appreciates its leading positions in the list of trading partners and is ready to make efforts to maintain them throughout the country,” Korenkov concluded.

Exports of machinery, timber (by 23%) and other goods increased, as did imports to an equal extent.
“The volume of mutual trade with the Sughd region last year amounted to more than $260 million, which is almost $100 million more than a year earlier. This is already almost 20% of the total trade between the countries,” Korenkov said.
Deliveries from Russia to Sughd also reached $240 million and almost 19% of total Russian exports.
The trade representative of the Russian Federation noted that the work of the representative office and the analyst shows that almost 60% of the largest exporters of building materials are also from Sogd.
