The peasant farm, which has been specializing in potato production since 2006, was visited by the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov. This year, root crops were planted on 160 hectares, 3088 tons were harvested, the average yield was 193 quintals per hectare. Now the harvest is being sorted, according to the regional government.
“The main task is to sort everything out, put it in storage and prepare it for implementation. The whole process is mechanized. Just like cleaning. Thanks to this, the yield is normal, the quality of potatoes is better and the harvesting and sorting process is faster,” said the head of the farm Alexander Sergienko.
The farm uses domestic varieties – Gala, White Rose, Atolia. In order for the harvest to be consistently high, variety renewal is carried out and mineral fertilizers are used.
Domestic and European equipment is used for potato production in the farm. There are no difficulties with the equipment now.
The agrarian repaired a warehouse for storing up to 1800 tons of potatoes. In addition, an additional temporary storage hangar with an area of 1100 square meters has been built. It has two sorting lines for root crops.
“It is clear that the farm is developing – new equipment is being purchased, storage facilities and warehouses are being built. Support from the Ministry of Agriculture gives its results. We need to continue this work and provide farmers with all the necessary assistance, – said Vasily Orlov. – In addition, now it is necessary not only to ensure the storage of vegetables, but also to organize their cleaning and packaging. The products of local farmers must meet all the requirements that buyers have for the goods on store shelves.”
