In a bustling morning in the spring, amidst the picturesque landscapes of Yangjiang, China, Chen Jinlin, the person in charge of the Hai Ling Experimental Zone’s Pinglan Village, oversees the harvesting progress of the vegetable base. The scene unfolds with workers swiftly picking broccoli, a testament to the thriving season. These freshly harvested vegetables are destined for packaging and transportation to Hong Kong, marking a seamless integration from farm to table.

As the demand for fresh produce surges, innovative approaches are reshaping traditional agricultural practices. Chen Jinlin, while inspecting the broccoli quality, coordinates timely transportation, underscoring the importance of efficiency in modern farming. With meticulous attention to detail, the harvested broccoli undergoes pruning, sorting, and packaging, adhering to stringent quality standards to meet consumer preferences.

The integration of technology and precision agriculture techniques ensures optimal yields and quality. Recent data indicates a significant increase in vegetable production, with each acre yielding between 1500 to 2500 kilograms. This surge in productivity is attributed to favorable weather conditions and advanced cultivation methods implemented at the Hai Ling Experimental Zone.

The Hai Ling Vegetable Base, serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, exemplifies a holistic approach to vegetable production. From seedling cultivation to processing and sales, the base adopts a customized production model, emphasizing quality assurance at every stage. The imminent completion of the processing plant signifies a milestone in enhancing the region’s agricultural infrastructure.

The state-of-the-art processing facility, spanning over 1900 acres, is equipped with cold storage and processing zones. With a capacity to store over 50,000 kilograms of fresh vegetables, the cold storage facility ensures prolonged freshness, extending the shelf life of produce. Meanwhile, the processing zone facilitates efficient cleaning, packaging, and boxing of fresh vegetables, optimizing supply chain logistics.

The establishment of the Hai Ling Vegetable Base underscores the pivotal role of innovation in modernizing agriculture. By leveraging technology and adopting sustainable practices, the agricultural sector continues to meet the evolving demands of consumers while ensuring food security and environmental stewardship.
