The Mediterranean Association of Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Exporters said Turkey’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports reached $1.45 billion in the first half of 2022.
During this period, Turkish farmers exported tomatoes worth $247.9 million with an increase of 15%, tangerines worth $168.7 million with an increase of 19% and lemons worth $148.8 million with an increase of 5%.
The largest markets for Turkish fresh fruit and vegetable exports in the first half of 2022 were Russia, Romania and Germany. The amount of exports to Russia amounted to $454.9 million, to Romania – $126.8 million and to Germany – $124.7 million.
Israel (+383%), Croatia (+96%) and Azerbaijan (+52%) were the countries with the largest increase in Turkish exports during the period.
Mersin and Hatay became the leaders among the regions of Turkey in terms of exports of fresh fruits and vegetables – $361.4 million and $227.2 million, respectively.
