At the border checkpoint “Petukhovo-Avtodorozhny” on the border with the Kurgan region, shipments of Bulgarian from Kyrgyzstan were stopped. The vegetables had no labeling and packaging. This is stated on the website of the Office of the Federal Service for the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions.
“A citizen of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan tried to smuggle into the territory of the Russian Federation through a checkpoint “Petukhovo-Avtodorozhny“ Bulgarian pepper weighing 6 tons. The products were transported in bulk, without packaging,” the message reads. Also, there was no marking on the vegetables, which is a violation of paragraph 1 of Part 1 of art. 32 of the Federal Law “On Plant Quarantine”, as well as violation of the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission No. 157, which prescribes the requirements for quarantined products: “<…> each package of quarantined products must have a label containing information about the name of the product, the country and place of origin, the exporting country and (or) the country- re-exporter”.
On this fact, an administrative offense case was initiated under Article 10.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation, and orders were issued to ban the import of this pepper into the territory of Russia. The vegetables were returned back to the territory of the Republic.
