The production of vegetables in Tajikistan increased by 1.2%, and fruit – by 6.4%, the republic’s statistics agency said on April 26, the agency’s press service reported.
It is noted that in Tajikistan in the first quarter of this year, 3880.4 tons of vegetables and 16.6 tons of fruits were grown, which exceeds the figures for the same period by 1.2% and 6.4%, respectively.
It is indicated that the total volume of gross agricultural output in the first quarter of this year amounted to more than $175.5 million, which is 9.1% higher than the figure for the same period last year.
The share of crop production in the total volume of gross output amounted to $3.34 million, which is 45.3% more than in the same period last year, and livestock – $172.2 million – an increase of 8.6%.
