Moldova is interested in lifting the ban on the export of crop products to Russia.
is interested in preserving the Russian market for the export of vegetables and fruits, but it is necessary to understand the reasons for the ban of the Rosselkhoznadzor, technical, economic or political. This was stated by Moldovan President Maia Sandu in an interview with one of the TV channels.
“When the Russian Federation has some arguments, we want to hear them, so that they come, check on the spot and we find a solution. Of course, we are interested in ensuring that all our products meet the standards, especially since we export and for much more stringent markets, and the European markets are much more demanding than the Russian one,” Sandu said.
She also urged to understand what the problem is – purely technical or political.
“If there is a technical problem, we want to be sure that it is a technical problem, and then we will solve it … But we wonder if it is an economic problem or a political one,” Sandu said.
She also noted that the relevant ministry is in dialogue with the Russian side and at the same time continues to search for new markets for the export of Moldovan products.
“The head of the Ministry of Agriculture had a conversation with the Russian ambassador. Let’s see what will follow these negotiations. Meanwhile, the ministry, the government must continue to search for new markets, and, as I understand it, there are such plans,” the president added.
