In the Stavropol Territory, the production of greenhouse vegetables has increased. This was announced in the Telegram channel by the head of the region Vladimir Vladimirov.

The production of greenhouse vegetables has become one of the strategic directions developed in the region. The result was also affected by the state support provided to farmers involved in the cultivation of greenhouse vegetables. As a result, since the beginning of this year, 135 tons of leaf lettuce have been harvested from the beds. Compared to last year, the increase was 7%. And the increase in vegetables received is 26%. Collected more than 36 thousand tons of products.

“If earlier the inhabitants of the region often asked the question – why do we grow vegetables, and they are sent mainly to the capital, you can’t buy them at home, then in a few years the situation has changed. Now, in the season of greenhouse vegetables, cucumbers, tomatoes, greens are on the shelves,” said the governor of the region Vladimir Vladimirov.

The governor also said that this summer, residents of the region will also be able to buy open-ground vegetables grown in the fields of Stavropol. Products from local manufacturers will be available on store shelves and at fairs. Just these days, vegetable growers carry out spring field work.
