Uzbekistan increased export of fruits and vegetables by 14.5%

In the first half of this year, Uzbekistan exported 821,000 vegetables and fruits worth $450 million, which is 14.5% (+104,000 tons) more than in the same period in 2021, the State Statistics Committee reports. Vegetables were exported 576 thousand tons, fruits and berries – 118 thousand tons, dried fruits and berries – 21 thousand tons. The share of fruit and vegetable products in the total export volume of the Republic of Uzbekistan in January-June amounted to 4.5%. The main sales markets were Russia – 187.7 thousand tons, Kazakhstan – 406.1 thousand tons, China – 52 thousand tons. In monetary terms, these figures amounted to $163.1 million, $110 million and $43.9 million, respectively. Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Ukraine left the top ten trading partners of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2022.
