Vasily Orlov instructed the regional Ministry of Agriculture not to delay the allocation of support measures for the construction of a second vegetable store.
The vegetable store, built this year, was shown to Governor Vasily Orlov by a farmer from the village of Grodekovo, Blagoveshchensk district, Vladimir Shilov. The facility is located on the territory of the Semena farm, the press service of the government of the Amur Region reports.
“We need to expand so that the products remain and are sold here. Previously, we could not store vegetables all year round, but now, with the commissioning of vegetable stores, we will be able to supply local retail chains with vegetables both in autumn and spring. The storehouse is designed for 550 tons and is equipped with equipment for long-term storage vegetables,” the agrarian told the head of the Amur Region.
Over the past three years, vegetable production on the farm has increased by 120%. In terms of sown areas occupied by potatoes and vegetables, the Grodekovo peasant farm is the leader in the Blagoveshchensky district. The fruits are in demand among the inhabitants of the Amur region and beyond.
The farmer plans to build the second phase of the vegetable store. Then the capacity of the economy will increase to a thousand tons. “As soon as we receive a subsidy, we are going to build a storage facility for potatoes,” said Vladimir Shilov.
Vasily Orlov, after a meeting with the agrarian, instructed the regional Ministry of Agriculture not to delay the allocation of support measures, and the acting head of the district, Denis Saltykov, to work out questions on the early commissioning of the facility in a “manual” mode.
“The program for subsidizing the construction of vegetable stores is under our special control, since it is directly related to the food security of the region. The Amur Region grows enough vegetables and potatoes to provide residents with them all year round. The task set for the regional Ministry of Agriculture is to preserve the local harvest in the region. This will also allow maintaining affordable prices for products. We actively support farmers working in this direction,” the governor said.
Recall that the regional Ministry of Agriculture, on behalf of the governor, has developed a number of new measures to support farmers: compensation for the construction of vegetable stores in the amount of 50% of the cost; compensation for the purchase of machinery and equipment in the amount of 50% of the cost; “per hectare” support in the amount of 20 thousand rubles for each hectare taken into circulation.
