Don vegetable growers plan to sow this season more than 5.5 thousand hectares of vegetable crops – cabbage, beetroot, carrots, onion sets, black onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, vegetable peas, peppers and others. This was reported at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region during a meeting on the issue of sowing and planting vegetables.
The need for vegetable seeds is 20.9 tons, 100% is available, of which 4.5 tons (21%) are seeds of domestic selection, 16.4 tons (79%) of foreign selection.
All vegetable seeds are checked – and conditioned. The plan for seed crops of vegetable crops in the Rostov region is 54.45 hectares.
The laboratories of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosselkhoztsentr” in the Rostov region tested 4.196 tons of potatoes. The Federal State Budgetary Institution Rosselkhozcenter assists farmers in conducting varietal surveys and certification of seeds, popularizing hybrids and varieties of domestic breeders, and demonstrating vegetable crops.
