Vegetable growers of the Volgograd region have already harvested 50,000 tons of vitamin products, of which 40,000 tons have been sent for sale.
- At present, vegetables are harvested on the open ground in Sredneakhtubinsky, Bykovsky, Gorodishchensky, Dubovsky, Ilovlinsky, Kalachevsky, Kamyshinsky, Leninsky, Novoanninsky, Svetloyarsky districts of the Volgograd region, specialists of the agriculture committee told Gorodskiye Vesti. – The main part of the harvest – 25 thousand tons – was collected in the Sredneakhtubinsky district.
Farms of the region produced cucumbers – 17 thousand tons, cabbage – 11 thousand tons, tomatoes – 5 thousand tons, onions – 7 thousand tons, pepper – 3 thousand tons. Also good indicators for the collection of carrots and beets, as well as gourds.
Vegetables from the Volgograd region are waiting not only for local residents, but also in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Tver, Murmansk, Omsk, Novosibirsk and a number of other cities in Russia.
State support for farmers allows both the production and processing of a large amount of raw materials locally. In July this year, one of the largest canning factories in the country and Europe, Akhtuba, began operation in the region, where they are ready to produce up to 100 million cans. During a working trip to the production, Governor Andrey Bocharov noted that the issues of launching new lines with the aim of increasing production are already being worked out with the company’s management.
