Volgograd vegetable growers next year may receive a total of 352.6 million rubles of state support. The funds are allocated within the framework of the new federal project “Development of vegetable and potato growing”.
According to the press service of the regional administration, payments can be allocated for agrotechnological works; support of elite seed production; production of protected ground vegetables produced using the technology of additional illumination; to support the production of potatoes and vegetables of open ground.
In addition, subsidies are provided for the reimbursement of part of the direct costs incurred for the creation and modernization of vegetable storages.
New state support measures are designed to stimulate the active development of domestic vegetable growing. The Volgograd region receives additional funds for the development of vegetable and potato growing precisely because these areas have been developing extremely actively in the region in recent years. The region firmly holds its position among the top three leaders in the production of open—ground vegetables, and in terms of the volume of vegetables grown in the closed ground – in the top ten in the country.
