In Crimea, the season of harvesting watermelons has begun. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alime Zaredinova. To date, enterprises of the republic have collected more than 600 tons of gourds: watermelons and melons from an area of about 20 hectares.
“In Crimea, 29 enterprises grow watermelons on an area of more than 100 hectares. The largest areas of cultivation of this crop, and this is about 55 hectares, are located in the Razdolnensky district. This year, watermelons and melons in all categories of farms have been sown on 573.72 hectares, of which agricultural producers have planted more than 250 hectares,” said Alime Zaredinova.
